Terms of Service

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Annotated lets you clip and annotate publicly available media (up to 90 seconds) with source attribution always shown. By using Annotated, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You sign in with Google or X, and you must be at least 13. You’re responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.

What you publish

You keep ownership of what you write and record. By publishing, you let us host it and show it on Annotated while it stays published.

Published annotations are public: each has its own URL anyone can open. Deleting one removes it from Annotated, but not copies others already made.

Clips and claims

Clips are for commentary, criticism, and discussion. Rights holders can file a claim on any public annotation page, no account needed. An upheld claim removes the clip, leaves the annotation and its attribution standing, and the page says the clip was removed. We may also remove or restrict content after review.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Annotated to break the law, harass anyone, publish others’ private information, or post or clip media you have no right to. Don’t try to disrupt the service or work around its limits.

Availability and changes

Annotated is provided as is, without guarantees. We may change or discontinue any part of it. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss from using it.

We may update these terms; the date above shows when. Using Annotated after an update means you accept it.

Contact

Use the claim form on an annotation page, or email privacy@annotated.info. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
